Slavery In Australia Educational Resource
Aurora and NIYEC are committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and learners in their education journey.
Together, we’ve developed this resource to support all learners in listening to and learning from First Nations voices, challenging dominant narratives, and engaging in an honest examination of this continent’s history.
This resource primarily explores the enslavement of First Nations people in Australia, while also highlighting the experiences of Pacific Islanders (through the practice known as Blackbirding), as well as Chinese and Indian communities, and provides guidance to further resources for deeper learning.
Produced in partnership with the Aurora Education Foundation.
